PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an aberration correcting device which has excellent characteristics such as a high responding rate, fine adjustment for correction of aberration and high reliability and which is suitable to be used to correct spherical aberration, coma aberration of an optical pickup or the like. SOLUTION: A laminated body 5 consisting of transparent electrode layers 3a to 3g and electro-optic material layers 4a to 4f is formed on the upper face of a transparent substrate 2. The transparent electrode layers 3a, 3c, 3e, 3g are connected one another, while the transparent electrode layers 3b, 3d, 3f are connected one another, but the transparent electrode layers 3a, 3c, 3e, 3g are electrically insulated from the transparent electrode layers 3b, 3d, 3f. The transparent electrode layers 3b, 3d, 3f have different numbers of parts which function as electrodes depending on the concentric position. In a region A1, voltage is applied on the two electro-optic material layers 4a, 4b, in a region A2, the voltage is applied on the four electro-optical material layers 4a to 4d, and in a region A3, the voltage is applied on the six electro-optical material layers 4a to 4f. |
