PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical pickup which has a small number of parts and a simple structure and is easily assembled. SOLUTION: An optical pickup 1 is provided with a pickup base 2, an actuator base, a damper base, an actuator, and four suspension wires. A substrate 8 is exposed to the outside of the pickup base 2 and is provided on a bottom face 21 of the pickup base 2. A photo diode 9 which receives reflected light from an optical disk is mounted on this substrate 8. Detaining claws 22 and 23 and a projection 25 are formed on the bottom face 21 of the pickup base 2. The substrate 8 has one end side supported by detaining claws 22 and 23 and the projection 24 and has the other end side fixed to the pickup base 2 by a screw.
