PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a connection controller that dynamically connects an ATM network and a serial bus such as an IEEE1394 bus. SOLUTION: An ATM switch that is connected to an ATM network 201 to conduct exchange processing is connected to a bridge 204. The bridge 204 is connected to a 1394 node 203 via an IEEE1394 bus. The bridge 204 acquires an ATM address from the ATM network 201 to set a VCC (an address of a virtual communication channel) 206 to respectively one or a plurality of 1394 nodes 203 in a subscriber's house, sets an isochronous channel 207 to the respective 1394 nodes, and fulfills a function of the bridge by conducting processing as if an ATM address were present when viewing from the ATM network 201.
