PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To transmit an image to a party with simple operation while using a portable telephone set by transmitting a selected image file to the destination of telephone when a transmission instruct key is operated after the telephone number of the telephone destination is inputted. SOLUTION: A smart medium 2 is inserted and set on the lower surface of a body 1 of telephone set. The menu of portable mail, E-mail and image transmission is displayed on a display 10. When the image transmission is selected by a select key 12, the list of all image files recorded in the smart medium 2 is displayed on the display 10. The image to be sent is selected lout of this list by the select key 12. A telephone number selection mode is set by the select key 12, the telephone number of the party is selected or inputted by a ten key pad 11 and a send key 11a is depressed. The send key 11a can be selected as ten key or function key by the select key 12. When the send key 11a is depressed, the data of the selected image file are transmitted.
