To disinfect soles (7) of shoes (6), user stands on grid (5), above cavity (8) with UV light emitting lamps (9). Disinfecting apparatus (1) also comprises supple flaps (10) in elastomer to avoid UV rays spreading above shoe level. Lamps are controlled by electronic control unit comprising keyboard, microprocessor, clock and memory (MEM) and stress sensor detecting presence of user on grid. Lamps can be low pressure mercury lamps emitting UV C- type light beams with wavelength around 254 nm. More generally, UV light must have wavelength between 200 and 300 nm, which is spectral zone of maximum efficiency against microorganisms. |
