Friction material production, by impregnating a mineral fiber based yarn with an aqueous cement containing fillers and an anionic surfactant, is new. An Independent claim is also included for a friction ring for a dry-running clutch friction disk, comprising a yarn which consists of mineral (e.g. glass) fibers, organic fibers (e.g. of polyacrylonitrile or derivative), an aqueous cement containing fillers and one or more anionic surfactants.
