PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric connecting device for a vehicle which reduces the number of parts by making an electric connection box common for the case of making the system have a power monitoring function and the case of not making the system have it. SOLUTION: In an electric connection box 18, a current-carrying path 34 from a power source 1 to an external plug socket 2 is made, and a breaker 3 is interposed freely of mounting and removal in the current-carrying path 34. Moreover, this device is constituted such that an electric monitor 20 and a short circuit piece can be selectively connected to the connector part 19 of the electric connection box 18. In the case that the power monitor 20 is connected, the power monitoring of the current-carrying path 34 is performed, and at need the breaker 3 is driven to break the line, while in the case that the short circuit piece is connected, the breaker 3 is controlled to drive it, according to the on/off of an ignition switch 6.
