PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten the pull-in time of gain control when a signal of high quality is received, to receive the signal of high quality at high speed and to improve throughput by measuring reception quality and setting the gain of the reception signal when reception terminates in accordance with measured quality. SOLUTION: The output of an AGC circuit 14 is inputted to a received signal detection circuit 16 and the presence or absence of the signal of a desired level or the presence or absence of a desired pattern is judged. A judged result is outputted to an AGC control circuit 18. The output of the AGC circuit 14 is inputted to a CIR measuring circuit 17, the ratio of the signal against interference power is measured and the judged result is outputted to the AGC control circuit 18. A CIR shows the reception quality of a received signal. The AGC control circuit 18 outputs an AGC control signal to the AGC circuit 14 in accordance with the signal from the received signal detection circuit 16. The received signal is suitably level-converted and is outputted to a demodulation circuit 15. Thus, the influence of an error of gain control owing to an interference signal can be reduced.
