The invention relates to a device and method for gathering sheet-like articles (1), whereby a sheet-like article is moved from a feed opening (7) to an exit opening (25). According to the invention, a plurality of rollers (4, 5, 15, 20, 21) is provided which interact with guide elements (9, 13, 18) to intermediately stack the sheet-like articles in an essentially linear manner. As a result, a sure and place-saving bundling of printed articles is ensured.
