At least one relief slot is introduced in the crank web(4) in the region of a fillet(5,6) between one of the journals and crank web. A relief slot(7) is provided for the shaft journal(2) and a relief slot(8) for the crank pin. The relief slots are concentric to the respective shaft journal and crank pin, and symmetrical to their longitudinal axes. The relief slots are formed with the manufacture of the crank web or after it.
