SPINDLE MOTOR AND DISK DEVICE

A spindle motor for a hard disk device has an outer periphery wall fitted with a rotor magnet on its outer peripheral surface, a hub capable of supporting the inner peripheral edge of a hard disk, and a fixed stator coil opposed to the rotor magnet and positioned radially outside. A disk device incorporating such a spindle motor has a stator coil so disposed that the movement path of a magnetic head is present between adjacent cores and thereby the influence of leakage from the stator coil is suppressed. While the power supply is off, the scanning head is moved to an unload position by using the energy accumulated in a capacitor.
