The invention relates to a method of producing a wobble die (9) for shaping the inner contour or the outer contour of a work piece (4) in a wobble process. According to the invention, first a wobble movement is determined. The three-dimensional geometry of the work piece (4) is described. A virtual die (5) is allocated to the three-dimensional geometry of the work piece (4). The shape of said virtual die substantially corresponds to the negative geometry of the work piece (4). Said virtual die (5) is shaped to a geometry that describes the wobble die (9) in accordance with the parameters of the wobble movement. Said wobble die (9) is manufactured on the basis of the geometry obtained according to the preceding step.
