The cross-joint has two perpendicular hinge axes (7,30) running through the axis of a handle. At least one of the hinge axes can be dismantled. A bearing of the joint is formed as part of a handle holder (4) and part of a base plate. A socket part is releasably connected to the base plate. A bearing holder (11) extending from the base plate engages a groove (37) in a cover plate (34).
