A mirror assembly comprises a support base (22) for mounting the mirror assembly to the vehicle, a support arm (12) pivotally coupled to the support base (22), a housing (20) coupled to the support arm (12) and slidable between a retracted position and an extended position, a drive mechanism (40) coupled between the support arm (12) and the housing (20) for providing both power actuated and manual sliding movement of the housing (20) along the support arm (12) between the retracted position and the extended position.
