An object with a protective surface coating containing a crosslinked polyamine. An Independent claim is also included for a method for the production of a protective coating, involving (a) preparation of an object with a sufficiently clean surface, (b) application of polyamine to the surface, (c) treatment with a polyamine-crosslinking medium and (d) partial or complete removal of the crosslinker from the surface.
