The procedure for the manufacture of a high pressure pipe entails the attachment of connecting nipples(3) by friction welding to the main pipe(2). The main pipe and nipples are made of a high strength non-rusting material. The main pipe at least in the region of the connecting nipples is flattened. The cross section of the main pipe may be polygonal, and in the connecting areas(4) may have a conical recess into which fits the nipple by a conical connector.
