The invention relates to a short-circuiter for an accidental arc protection device for use in installations that distribute electric energy. Said short circuiter comprises a gas generator and a short-circuiter piston that is directly driven by the gas generator and that electrically connects the connecting bars with a busbar. The aim of the invention is to provide such a short-circuiter in the configuration as a housing that is provided with all components that are required for a three-phase short-circuit. To this end, the short-circuiter has at least one lower part (9) that consists of insulating material in which the connecting bars (3) are embedded and fixed. The short-circuiter is further provided with at least one fixing element (7) from insulating material in which the link bar (2) is embedded and fixed. The lower part (9) with the fixing element (7) is mounted in such a manner that at least one insulating short-circuiter housing is formed.
