PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a transmitting belt excellent in durability by reinforcing cloth which is used in the transmitting belt, requires extensibility and contractibility and displays excellent wear resistance of amide fiber. SOLUTION: In this V belt, many blocks 8, 8,... are fixedly locked in a prescribed pitch in a belt lengthwise direction further with a prescribed space apart to both side pair of endless tension bands 1, 1. Each tension band 1 is constituted by a shape holding rubber 2, core wires 3, 3,... buried in this shape holding rubber 2 in a condition arranged by a prescribed pitch in a width direction of the tension band 1 further with a prescribed space apart to be spirally wound in a lengthwise direction of the tension band 1, upper reinforcing cloth 4 covering an upper surface of the shape holding rubber 2, and a lower reinforcing cloth 5 covering a lower surface of the shape holding rubber 2. At least one of the upper or lower reinforcing cloth 4 or 5 is constituted by extending/ contracting cloth formed of only aromatic polyamide fiber.
