PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To write many data related to a succeeding image to a storage area of an image memory by scanning the succeeding image, until transfer of image data is finished so as to obtain scanning information of the succeeding image and writing it to the storage area of the image memory, after reading of image data is finished. SOLUTION: When an entry means 23 gives a scan instruction to a scanner section 54, a scan mode is set to the scanner section 54, which writes image data by each one line from an image sensor 48 to a line memory 50 through an image processing section 49. A CPU 51 writes the image data by each line written in the line memory 50 to an image memory 55 by designating a write address. The image data are written in the image memory 55, while changing the written address one after another by feeding the image data corresponding to one line at a prescribed pitch for a prescribed number of times. The data corresponding to one image written in the image memory 55 are transferred to a printer 57.
