PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a crystal vibrator which can be used for a voltage controlled crystal oscillator whose variable range is wide by bonding a suppression electrode in a form where a cross form and a circle are overlapped so that centers are matched to the center part of one of base electrodes confronted to both faces of a circular piezoelectric substrate. SOLUTION: Confronted base electrodes 3a are bonded to both faces of an AT cut crystal substrate 2. Lead electrodes 4 are extended to the end parts of a piezoelectric substrate 2 and a crystal vibration element is formed. A cross-formed electrode which is upward/downward/rightward/leftward symmetric is bonded to the center of one face of the base electrode 3a as a suppression electrode 5. Metal and the like are vapor-deposited in the vacuum of a holding unit 1 through a mask and a frequency is adjusted to a desired one. The suppression electrode 5 is added and tertiary and quinary higher harmonics are distributed on the outer side of a prescribed frequency range. Thus, tertiary and quinary higher harmonic vibration does not connect basic wave vibration even if the non-linear element oscillation circuit of a transistor and a diode exists and frequency fluctuation becomes smooth even if load capacity is changed.
