FUEL-CELL FUELS, METHODS, AND SYSTEMS

A fuel cell fuel, a method of making a fuel cell fuel, a fuel cell system utilizing Fischer-Tropsch feed and a method of operating a fuel cell are disclosed. The fuel cell fuel is a light Fischer-Tropsch liquid having at least 77 wt.% normal and iso-paraffins, les than 20 wt.% olefins, less than 9 wt.% alcohols, less than 0.001 wt.% sulfur and less than 5 wt.% aromatics. The process of making the fuel cell fuel includes separating a heavy portion from a Fischer-Tropsch liquid, hydrocracking the heavy portion and separating a C5-C18 portion from the hydrocrackate.
