The invention relates to the use of a caspase inhibitor which incubates the proliferation of peripheral blood lymphocytes and is therefore particularly suitable for treating diseases or disorders that are caused by a hyperproliferation of peripheral blood lymphocytes. The invention also relates to the use of a caspase inhibitor for suppressing the immune system.
