COMPOSITIONS AND METHODS FOR EXTENDING LIFE SPAN

摘要

Specific inhibition of EF-2 kinase results in the significant extension of life span without any adverse effects on behavior, development, and reproduction. Moreover, inhibition of this enzyme decreases the rate of agin g and results in a more than two-fold increase in the sexually-active period o f the life span. Inhibition of the activity of the enzyme results in increased overall protein turnover, which is positively correlated with the decrease i n rate of aging and increase in life span.
