PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a membrane separation apparatus and a membrane separation method with improved filtration efficiency by increasing the filtration treatment quantity and shortening the time for filtration and at the same time, to provide a method of washing the membrane separation apparatus to wash filters deteriorated in filtration efficiency with time owing to filtration treatment. SOLUTION: This apparatus is provided with a raw liquid supply means 31 for supplying a raw liquid A, a filtration means 32 installed under the raw liquid supply means 31, a filtrate discharge means 33 formed in the filtration means 32, and a remaining liquid discharge means 34 formed under the filtration means 32. The filtration treatment means 32 comprises filters 40 through which the raw liquid A is passed and a filter container 41 for housing the filters 40. In this case, a gas supply means 35 is installed to wash the filters 40 by supplying a gas to the filters 40.
