PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an excellent image contrast, an image preservability and heat-resistance by using a specified substituted phenoxycarboxylic acid compound represented by a formula as an electron accepting compound which makes an electron donative coloring compound on a supporting body generate a reversible hue change. SOLUTION: In this reversible heat-sensitive recording material containing an electron donative coloring compound, an electron accepting compound and a binder on a supporting body, a substituted phenoxycarboxylic acid compound represented by a formula is used as the electron accepting compound which makes the electron donative coloring compound generate a reversible hue change. In this case, in the formula, X represents a bivalent group containing a hetero atom. Also, R1 represents an alkyl group of which the number of carbon atoms is 6-30, and R2 represents a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom, an alkyl group of which the number of carbon atoms is 1-4, a hydroxyl group or a carboxyl group. Then, n is an integer of 1-4. It is possible to form a favorable image contrast and the preservability of the image, and heat-resistance are excellent. |
