PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink absorbing member with the excellent ink supply performance, made of a fiber material with an improved ink tank attaching and detaching property of a head. SOLUTION: An ink absorbing member 24 is stored in a negative pressure generating member storage room 22A, with an ink kept therein. The ink absorbing member 24 having an outer surface same as or corresponding to the inner surface shape of the negative pressure generating member storage room 22A is produced by laminating and compressing a fiber lump applied with a thermoforming on the surface, and cut at a position 103a corresponding to an ink supply opening 28 of an ink tank and a facing surface 103 at the time of storage.
