SOLUTION: An afterstart peak revolution actual value gnepk of this time is calculated (step 103) in idling state and within a specified time after starting (affirmative decision in steps 101, 102), an afterstart peak revolution target value tnepk is read from a map (step 104), the ratio of the post-start peak revolution actual value gnepk and the afterstart peak revolution target value tnepk, namely, tnepk/gnepk is multiplied by an air amount QST used at this start into the air amount QST which will be used in the start next time (step 105).
