PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a biaxially stretched polyamide film improved in impact resistance at low temp. without damaging excellent properties of the film and a method for producing the same. SOLUTION: A biaxially stretched polyamide film satisfies melting points represented by formula I: [Tm(MD restriction)--Tm(Free)]<=1.0 and formula II: [Tm(TD restriction)-Tm(Free)]>=1.0 according to a DSC definite length restriction method at the same time. In the formulae I, II, Tm(MD restriction) is an m.p. due to the DSC definite length restriction method in a longitudinal direction (MD direction) in the vicinity of the central part of the film and Tn(TD restriction) is an m.p. due to the DSC definite length restriction method in a lateral direction (TD direction) in the vicinity of the central part of the film and Tm(Free) is an m.p. in a free state in an arbitrary direction in the vicinity of the central part of the film.
