LIGHTWEIGHT CELLULAR CERAMICS, ITS PRODUCTION, LIGHTWEIGHT CELLULAR TILE AND TILED BOARD WITH THE TILE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new lightweight cellular ceramic material, a lightweight cellular tile consisting of the ceramic material, etc., and a tiled board manufactured by using such tiles, each of which contributes to the solution of environmental problems. SOLUTION: This new lightweight cellular ceramic material is produced from a raw material containing 5-95 wt.% of a fired ceramic waste material and the remainder of a material consisting essentially of a clayey material and/or a feldspathic material, and has a 0.3-2.0 bulk density after firing a formed body from the raw material to foam the formed body. The tile is composed of the new lightweight cellular ceramics and the board or tile is manufactured by bonding the tile. Since a fired ceramic waste material is used as raw material, firing and foaming is stabilized and the recycling of waste is promoted.
