PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To carry out the locking and the unlocking operations only by a remote control operation without generating an error operation, even though a trouble, a dirt, and the like are generated to a foreign matter detector, and to improve the service life of a battery by controlling the intermittent operation at the receiving side more delicately. SOLUTION: In this locking device for bicycle, a receiving means to generate a signal in order to drive a lock driving means to operate a locking mechanism only when the signal coincides with that a cirtification code sets by receiving a code signal from a transmission means is provided, and the system is composed to block the drive of the lock driving part when it is detected the existence of foreign matters in the motion locus of the above locking mechanism. In such a locking device for bicycle, the locking is made possible (S35) only in a specific period after the running stop is detected (S34). By a clean remote control where the fingers are never stained, the locking mechanism is operated forcibly, when foreign matters are in the motion locus of the locking mechanism, so as to prevent the damage of the locking device, and even when an error operation of a key button is generated when the foreign matter detecting function is hurt by a trouble and a contamination of the foreign matter detecting part, the locking is never carried out in the running time, so as to secure the safety.
