PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink jet head and an ink jet printer requiring no vacuum space. SOLUTION: In an ink jet head 10 for flying ink while pressurizing based on the partial deformation of a wall 22 forming an ink containing chamber 14, a shape memory material is employed in an actuator 32 for deforming a part of the wall. The ink jet head has a bias means, e.g. a bias plate 34, for deforming the actuator when it makes a transition from austenite transformation to martensite transformation.
