摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a regenerator for executing stepwise catalyst regeneration in a fluidized bed with a baffle and a method therefor. SOLUTION: The catalyst regenerator for removing carbon from a spent fluidized catalyst cracking(FCC) catalyst circulating in an FCC unit includes a regenerator which includes a dilute phase fluidized catalyst bed and thick phase fluidized catalyst bed arranged respectively in the sections above and below the regenerator, a spent catalyst distributor which exists adjacently to the apex of the thick phase fluidized catalyst bed and distributes the spent catalyst to the regenerator, an air grid which is arranged adjacently to the bottom of the thick phase fluidized catalyst bed in order to introduce oxygen- containing aeration fluid into the regenerator, the baffle which is the baffle arranged between the spent catalyst distributor and the air grid and is arranged with 40% of the catalyst in the thick phase fluidized catalyst bed upper than the perpendicular mid-point of the baffle, a line which is connected to the upper section of the regenerator in order to release the aeration fluid from the dilute phase and a line which is connected to the lower section of the regenerator in order to draw the regenerated catalyst out of the thick phase.
