PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for industrially producing a corresponding carbamate in a good yield by the transesterification of an aryl carbamate with an alcohol without generating such problems that the yield of an objective compound declines and its separation/purification becomes difficult because of the decline of catalyst activity, the formation of by-product or the like. SOLUTION: When a corresponding carbamate is produced by the transesterification of the (I) an aryl carbamate with (II) an alcohol in the presence of a catalyst, a reactant raw material fluid comprising the aryl carbamate I, the alcohol II and the catalyst the moisture content of which is set to <=0.25 mol based on the aryl carbamate I of 1 mol is applied.
