PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make a light-emitting tile excellent in the capacity of coping with emergencies as well as in constructibility, maintainability and design. SOLUTION: This light-emitting tile has solar batteries 2 for generating electric power for light emission, an electric double layer capacitor for accumulating the electric power, a planar light-emitting part, a light emission control circuit for controlling the lighting of the planar light-emitting part, and the like, all of which are provided on the back of a tile surface part 1A. The electric power generated by the solar battery 2 is stored in the capacitor during the day, and the light-emitting surface 4A of the planar light emitting part automatically emits light during the night by means of the electric power stored in the electric double layer capacitor to allow the tile to emit light. The self-generating function provided by the solar battery 2 and the electric double layer capacitor facilitates construction and maintenance and maintains light emission even during power outages to enhance the capability of the tile to cope with emergencies. Also, planar light emission that is gentle to the eyes enhances the design of the tile. |
