摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an ultrasonic wave object tracking system by providing a detector in the periphery of an object, which detects energy radiated by means of a converter and generates a signal in accordance with it, and a signal processor for receiving a detection signal and processing it to decide the coordinate of the object. SOLUTION: A radio frequency radiation is started by a control signal from a control unit 32 and a driving signal is generated in a radio frequency radiator driver 26. Radio frequency radiators 40, 42 and 44 arranged outside of the body front surface of a patient radiate a radio frequency by the driving signal and the representative of the driving signal is transmitted to the signal processor 30. An ultrasonic wave radiation from a side converter 12 is detected by ultrasonic wave detectors 34, 36 and 38 and converted into an analog or digital type electric signal in order to be given to the signal processor 30. The signal processor 30 processes the outputs of the detectors 34, 36 and 38 for calculating the position and/or the orientation of the side converter 12 and transmits the information to a display monitor 28 and/or the control unit 32.
