PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a rubber composition good in workability and high in modulus of elasticity by incorporating a specific quantity of maleimide resin in a rubber component composed of natural and/or synthetic rubber. SOLUTION: This rubber composition is obtained by incorporating (A) 100 pts.wt. of a rubber component composed of natural and/or synthetic rubber with (B) 0.1 to 30 pts.wt., preferably 0.5 to 10 pts.wt., more preferably 0.5 to 3.0 pts.wt., of a maleimide resin preferably having a softening point of 120 deg.C or lower. The component A preferably contains styrene/butadiene copolymer rubber at 50 wt.% or more. The component B is preferably a bismaleimide resin, and preferable bismaleimide resins include polyaminobismaleimide and bismaleimidetriazine. A pneumatic tire is obtained by using this rubber composition as the rubber member. It is preferably of tread type. |
