PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent energization starting timing and the energization shutoff timing from being reversed, even if backlash of the rotation is generated in engine stalling, in a structure for converting the angle into time and detecting energization starting timing and the energization shutoff timing of an ignition coil. SOLUTION: A crank angle sensor for outputting a position signal POS for each crank angle of 10 deg. is provided, the angle from the position signal POS as the reference position to the energization start timing and the energization shutoff timing is converted into the time of the basis of a period TPOS of the position signal POS, and energization to an ignition coil is controlled. When the period TPOS is longer than the last period TPOS1 by the prescribed times (S7), time conversion is performed (S8) on the basis of the last period TPOS1.
