Date Oct. 9, 1997A self-locking wrench includes a movable jaw which can be moved by a manual actuator. Motion of the actuator is transmitted to the movable jaw by a leaf spring. When moving the movable jaw toward an open position, the leaf spring becomes deformed and stores energy so as to be able to subsequently drive the movable jaw toward a closed position when the actuator is released.
