摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make efficiently decomposable gases emitted from garbage with a compact structure by installing a plurality of photocatalytic filters having gas permeating and catalytic properties in the surrounding of an axial member containing a means for emitting a light with excitation wavelength and setting a part of the photocatalytic filters as to cross the flow direction of an object fluid to be treated. SOLUTION: This purification apparatus 4 comprises a photocatalytic filter unit 15 comprising a plurality of belt-like photocatalytic filters 13 having gas permeating and catalytic properties and arranged spirally and radially around the circumference of an axial member 10 formed like a frame and an excitation light emitting tube 14 inserted into the inside of the axial member 10. A gas flowing into a gas discharge pipe 3 is brought into contact with the photocatalytic filters 13 and oxidized and decomposed by the photocatalyst activated by the ultraviolet rays from the excitation light emitting tube 14 and purified air is discharged out of the gas discharge pipe 3. In that case, since the respective photocatalytic filters 13 are arranged slantingly in relation to the excitation light emitting tube 14, the photocatalytically functioning layers can evenly receive a large quantity of ultraviolet rays and the photocatalytic function can be surely exhibited.
