PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To miniaturize a device by including a drive cord in the drive mechanism of an air mix door, forming its tension applying means with a spring connected to the drive cord, and arranging at least part of the spring within the range of faces located in the air flowing direction of the air mix door. SOLUTION: In this automobile air conditioner, an evaporator 7 and a heater core 8 are arranged in the downstream in a ventilation duct, and a slide type air mix door 11 is provided in the directly upstream of the heater core 8. The drive mechanism of the air mix door 11 is provided with a drive cord 23 and a drive wheel 24. One end of the drive cord 23 is connected to the upper end of the air mix door 11, and the other end is connected to the air mix door 11 via a tensile spring 25 serving as a tension applying means. The tensile spring 25 is arranged within the range of faces 11a, 11b located in the air flowing direction of the air mix door 11, and it is applied with tension by being expanded or shrunk within this range.
