PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for forming a disk-like diameter expanding part by applying hot upsetting to the end part of a reinforcing bar. SOLUTION: A plurality of horizontal guide rods 7 are provided between a first frame 6A and a second frame 6B, a die supporting block 8 which holds a die 10 is movably held by the guide rods 7, a clamp device 12 which clamps a reinforcing bar 1 is attached to the first frame 6A and also a cylinder device 38 which moves the die supporting block 8 is attached to the second frame 6B, and further a heating head 31 which heats the end part of the reinforcing bar is arranged in front of the die 10. Thus, the reinforcing bar 1 is clamped by the clamp device 12, the tip end is heated by the heating head 31, thereafter the die 10 is pressed against the end surface of the reinforcing bar, the diameter of the reinforcing bar is expanded by compressing the bar in the axial direction, thereby forming a disk-like diameter expanding part.
