PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To avoid the prolongation of dehydration time while surely preventing a bubble binding at the time of dehydration. SOLUTION: A drain valve is opened after washing operation is completed (S10), and the time required to lower the water level from a washing water level to a predetermined water level is measured (S11-S13). The performance of draining water is estimated from the measured time and the washing water level, and the state of water discharge at the time of dehydration is estimated from the amount of load and the quality of fabric to compute low-speed rotating time (S14). In the case that it is possible to judge that the performance of draining water is low or that the amount of water discharged from laundry is large, the low-speed rotating time is set on the long side. By securing low- speed rotating time sufficient and necessary for the initial stage of dehydration, it is possible to drain water smoothly to the outside without accumulating a large amount of water at the bottom part of an outer tub.
