PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce wear generated on the roll surface of a forming stand of an edge bending forming stand, etc., where a forming load is liable to be concentrated and to reduce generation of an edge wave, etc., due to a local elongation of an edge part. SOLUTION: An abnormal bearing pressure is generated at the moment that a stock is brought into contact with a lower roll in an edge bending forming stand, by arranging a small auxiliary roll abutting to the edge part of the stock near the upstream/downstream sides of the lower roll in the edge bending forming stand, and setting a height for a pass line of the edge part to a prescribed height, a part of a forming load is shared to the auxiliary roll, the forming load and bearing pressure received by the lower roll are reduced.
