摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To employ a high oriented liquid crystal structure and to provide a carrier transport element and a light emission element by using the liquid crystal element. SOLUTION: An orientation control layer having a uniaxial orientation regulation force is selectively formed on a substrate having an electrode, and a liquid crystal thereon is applied. By gradually cooling from an isotropic phase, transition from a region coming in contact with the orientation contorl layer to a liquid crystal phase occurs. A liquid crystal phase transition region is enlarged along the regulation axis of a uniaxial orientation regulation force to provide a high degree orientation state.
