PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a device for forming the profile of an entire active cutting worm with high flexibility within a short dressing time with a small change and facility costs. SOLUTION: A circular curved roller 32 having a truncated cone operation area 48 and a recessed annular operation area 49 connected thereto is attached on a dressing spindle 30 in coaxial relation to a dressing disk 31. In first step, the profiles of the flanks 42 and 43 of a screw thread of a cutting worm are formed by the disk 3. After the dressing spindle 30 is rotated, the tip round curved portions 46 and 47 of both and a cylinder outer peripheral portion are profile-formed by the roller 32. |
