PRODUCTION OF FIBROUS SHEETLIKE COMPOSTIE AND ARTIFICIAL LEATHER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a composite having sharp heat-sensitive coagulating proper ties and capable of forming a microporous layer after drying and imparting a touch feeling with stiffness, especially an artificial leather by impregnating a fibrous material substrate with an aqueous resin composition comprising a specific aqueous urethane resin and an associated type thickener. SOLUTION: This composite is obtained by impregnating or coating (B) a fibrous material substrate with (A) an aqueous resin composition comprising (i) an aqueous urethane resin dispersed with a nonionic surfactant having 40-90 deg.C heat-sensitive coagulating temperature and preferably 10-18 HLB and (ii) an associated type thickener containing preferably a hydrophobic group at the terminal and urethane bonds in the molecular chain, and then, carrying out heat-sensitive coagulation with (C) steam preferably at 70-120 deg.C temperature.
