PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate the connection of an inspection jig or the like to the input terminal without spoiling the gripping facility of an iron by constituting a gripping section in such a manner that the opening section for a handle arranged at an upper area of the base is covered with a handle cover, and providing first and second input terminals on a printed circuit board being arranged in the gripping section. SOLUTION: When the inspections for wiring and temperature are performed at the time of the building up of an iron main body 1, before a handle cover 10 is attached, an inspection pin from an inspection jig is lowered to a printed circuit board 9 from the top which is the opened surface of a handle 7, and is connected to a second input terminal 14 of the printed circuit board 9. Also, when the iron main body 1 has been built up into a completed product, the output terminal 6 of a wiring 5 from a temperature detecting means 4 is connected to a first input terminal 13, and a temperature detection signal is input in a temperature control means 12 through the output terminal 6 and the first input terminal 13. Then, the detected temperature and a set temperature are compared, and a heat circuit on/off means 11 is on/off-controlled, and the turning on of power to a heater 2 is controlled, and base 3 is kept at a desired temperature.
