PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a molten iron refining method, by which the generated quantity of slag can be reduced to the minimum and the producing cost of molten steel can be reduced and an efficient and stable dephosphorizing treatment can be executed by using a slag substantially containing no fluorine. SOLUTION: In the molten iron refining method, in which to the molten iron of <=0.1 wt.% silicon concn., at least a dephoshphorizing process and decarburizing process are executed in this order, and in the dephosphorizing process, the dephosphorizing agent obtd. with which mixture of a lime source substantially containing no fluorine and having <5 mm grain size and an oxidized iron source having <15 mm grain size, is granulated and heating treatment to this granulated material is executed, is used, and after reducing the phosphorus concn. in the molten iron to substantially the phosphorus concn. level in a product with the slag quantity of <=30 kg/T, the decarburizing process is executed.
