摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to achieve efficient deodorization by providing the above device with a cylindrical deodorization element having a photodeodorization catalyst deposited filter forming a treating space via air impermeable supporting members arranged to face each other at both ends of a cylindrical light source for catalyst excitation and forming air flow passages in the diametral direction of this cylindrical deodorization element. SOLUTION: In this photodeodorization device, the treating air is introduced from the outside of the cylindrical deodorization element 31 by a blower or pump into the air treating space 39, is passed through the photodeodorization catalyst deposited filter 33 and is further discharged outside from the space 39, by which the air is passed again through the filter 33 on the other surface side. Namely, the flow passage A of the treating air is adopted in the direction orthogonal with the central axis of the cylindrical light source 35 and, therefore, the treating air eventually passes the photodeodorization catalyst deposited filter 33 twice. Only the treating air past the filter 33 falls onto the cylindrical light source 35 and, therefore, the contamination by the dust of the light source 35 is averted without the separate disposition of the dust removing filter and the more efficient photodeodorization is made possible.
