PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject bleaching preparation exhibiting an inhibitory effect on melanization, etc., developing a bleaching effect in a short time by including an extract of wheat embryo bud and an extract of a fruit of Pyracantha crenulate of the genus Pyrancantha of the family Rosaceae. SOLUTION: This bleaching preparation contains (A) an extract of wheat embryo bud and (B) an extract of a fruit of Pyracantha crenulate (Chinese medicine name of Sekiyousi) of the genus Pyracantha of the family Rosaceae. Preferably the cosmetic contains 0.0001-10 wt.% calculated as a dried solid content of the component A and 0.001-5 wt.% of the component B. For example, a substance obtained by extracting wheat embryo bud with water, concentrating and filtering can be used as the composition A. An extract obtained by extracting the active ingredient of Sekiyousi with water, a lower alcohol such as methanol or ethanol or its mixed solution is used as it is as the component B and preferably powder obtained by pulverization by lyophilization method or spray dry method can be used.
